There is more to traveling than seeing exotic beaches, looming mountains, and stone formations that you honestly expected to be a little bit bigger *cough*.
You learn things.

Here are the secrets that travelers know:
Less is more:
(When we’re not talking about food) less tends to be more. I learned how to essentially live out of a single suitcase and then break that down to living out of a backpack. Traveling teaches you what you really need and for me, that is a lot of socks.
It’s okay to splurge
I felt SO guilty about spending money at first, until I realized this is exactly what I have spent my life saving for. So yes, I will take a trip to Prague AND go to my favorite burger place twice in one week. I literally spent my entire life working for this so you’re damn right I’m going to get cheese too.
Losing to find
Some of the most beautiful places that I have found here are when I was quite literally, very lost. Now put this into a metaphor and you basically have any of my articles I’ve ever written.
Friends are everywhere
I have made friends from every part of the globe. From travel shops and coffee places, to random clubs, I have found amazing people everywhere I’ve gone.
Endings can be beautiful too
I’m probably going to cry like a child on the long 8 hour flight home...God bless the soul of the person next to me. But despite the sadness of leaving the life I built here behind, I will always have the memories and pictures (and Skype) to bring me back.
Not everyone has the budget, time, or patience to travel. The point is that these secrets are transferable to things as small as your trip to the grocery store or Chipotle (ugh I miss Chipotle). Just enjoy yourself, work hard, pay attention, and the rest will soon follow.
