I’ve been in such a terrible slump for the past few weeks which is partially why I haven’t posted. I literally feel like a storm cloud has been dragging above my head and just pouring on me, because it also literally has been *perks of living in the U.K.*
However, I am a firm believer that you are the only one who can fix you, and much like my article “Making Sunshine”, I decided it was time to buy an umbrella...and a rain poncho...and rain boots. I have wet feet and my hair is truly unsightly in a drizzle.
Since I realized I need to recalibrate my system, I made a plan, because that’s how all good plans start. With a plan.
I wrote down a list of things I love to do that bring out the best in me, and made a promise to myself to do them.
For example, when I’m in a bad mood at home, my mom will ask me when the last time I made a craft or did something artsy was...then she’ll usually follow that up with providing me with pencils or paint because I get irritable when I can’t be creative.
It’s the strange little things like this that make up the fibers of who we are, and we have to stay true to that. So if you are stuck in the rain like me, find what makes you happy and paint your day a little brighter.
